Small livestock farming—goats, sheep, backyard poultry, indigenous poultry and duckery—supports millions of marginal and landless households across rural India. Despite its proven potential for income generation, nutritional security and women’s empowerment, the sector continues to suffer from a persistent and often overlooked challenge: knowledge discontinuity once formal extension support ends. Most livestock development programs emphasize short-term training, exposure visi
